The homeowner contacted us in the fall of 2018 to plan for a backyard that included a custom pavilion with multiple uses; they wanted a rustic mountain look. Their goal was to be able to use the space late into the year. Therefore, we designed it with a large linear firepit which featured a custom gas burner that provides 300,000 BTUs of heat along with the overhead radiant heaters to keep the space warm.

The couple had different priorities for the space; the husband was focused on the pavilion and the wife was concerned about the pool area. Our team accommodated the different priorities an created a custom space for all to enjoy.

We worked with our trusted trade partners such as plumbers, electricians and excavators to build the custom designed pavilion. The rear wall features large rough-cut horizontal cedar planks in the rear wall to accommodate two large outdoor TVs. Between the TVs is a focal point stone wall with custom barn wood mantle. Below the TVs we installed cedar wainscoting to add interest.

This challenging project was completed in only 8 weeks. Our team excavated the hillside to create a large enough space for a 20×40 foot pool with auto-cover as well as the pavilion. A 120-foot retaining wall was built with a combination of Versa-Lok Allegheny Blend and natural mountain rock boulders. The custom bar and firepit were creating using Unilock Brussels Sierra Blend Block.
