This home is located in the East Hills of Pittsburgh, over-looking Edgewood country club. Sitting on a wooded lot, this classic style home features large, mature trees and a small backyard. The customer wanted less maintenance in mowing the small grass area. Our team designed a unique plan which incorporated multiple seating areas and unique pathways. The pathways leading from the driveway, through the gardens to the main outdoor living space were created to look natural while being functional for decades.
The existing patio was enhanced by a new pergola. Bistro lighting were hung for evening gatherings. A basalt column water feature was integrated into the landscaping to be viewed from the patio area and eat-in-kitchen.
Along with the pathways, our design team incorporated Rosetta concrete steps made to look natural among the large natural boulders.
Our biggest challenge with this project was in selection of shade and deer tolerant plants that would thrive in the conditions of the property.
